To people who are nothing, to the sweet crazy people, to the big children, to the artists who ignore themselves, to the crazy people who let the light shine through, to those who are not afraid to laugh at the old world in decay. There are our struggles for justice and the commons, our hopes, our objectives, our ideals, our joys, our anger and the complementarity of our modes of action.
Some adorn the walls with well-meaning witticisms while others have acquired perfect mastery in the art of throwing cobblestones. Their works make the headlines of news channels which hope to change the public opinion. The aspiration to chaos exerts its power of fascination. At the same time, others dream of making revolution armed with flowers and colors.
We know who holds the monopoly on legitimate violence and in the service of whose interests. We pay dearly the price of our insubordination: repression, humiliation, intimidation, arrests, bans, summons, prisons, detention centers, broken faces, torn hands, stolen lives. There are fights for justice and truth, and fear which must change sides.
On May 1, as an organized group and like an armed struggle, we will take a step aside. Inspired by the satirical force of Charlie Chaplin and his magnificent mockery of the uniform wearers, we will adopt the posture of Schwarzenegger in Terminator, adorned with enormous and super classy simulacra of weapons. We will assess the forces of disorder by putting meaning into them because we lack neither talent nor ideas for transforming trash into works of art, and we have the culture of caricature in our blood.
Armed to the teeth, we will pose to produce an image that is as attractive for the media as it is disturbing for those in power. We will do it seriously, and deadpan, equipped with this impressive equipment, we will mock the RoboCops, we will mock the use of weapons of war in the repression of our movements.
Strong, proud and determined, that’s good—we know how to do it. This alternative intervention can only be accomplished if it gives you the desire to be part of it, that’s the game we play.
